The definition of Modelithe

Modelithe is an agile philosophy, implemented through a framework, aided by a tool for tracking, collaboration and automation.

The Modelithe framework has one canonical definition, as defined on modelithe.com.

The Modelithe framework model embrace the Agile Manifesto’s “We have come to value responding to change over following a path” and “At regular intervals, the team reflects on how to become more effective, then tunes and adjusts its behavior accordingly“. Thus, Modelithe is constantly evolving as the field of software engineering matures further and face new – currently unknown – challenges.

Modelithe Revisions

There is no such thing as “Current Modelithe” or “Latest Modelithe”. Modelithe is version controlled in adherence to its principle of versioned artifacts.

Working according to Modelithe

An organization “implementing” Modelithe or “working according to” Modelithe, does so with respect to a specific revision and edition. There is no certification or fees needed to state this.

Modelithe is designed for progressive implementation. The goal is that 80% of all companies that wants to embrace Modelithe are able to do so by choosing a specific revision and edition without diverging from the Modelithe framework or trying to work around the limitations imposed by the Modelithe tool.

The Modelithe tool also allows for some partial implementation of the framework. Most 3rd-party issue tracking tools can be configured to support the Modelithe philosophy’s way of working. Thus, Modelithe can be embraced in several different ways.

However, to avoid confusion and avoid diluting the nomenclature, an organization MAY state they implement, or work according to Modelithe ONLY then they follow what is mandated according to their selected revision and edition.

If an organization side-step the framework, or work around the Modelithe tool to accommodate the needs of their current methods or processes, the organization SHALL NOT state they implement, follow or work according to Modelithe.

The reason is to avoid diluting the belief in what constitute working according to Modelithe, just as many organizations who claim they work according to Scrum, in fact doesn’t.

Since the Modelithe tool is a low-overhead alternative to many issue tracking tools such as Jira, Asana, Basecamp, ClickUp, Linear, Monday.com, Zendesk, Notion, Trello and others. Therefor, it is natural to describe the Modelithe tool and the Modelithe model in comparison to them. See Trademark Acknowledgement or more information.
